We the undersigned
residents of Blue Diamond and the surrounding area respectfully request the Clark County
Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners deny this
zone change request.
In October 1996 you rightfully adopted a master plan governing
land use in this area. Thank you! The property in question is
rightfuliy designated RC residential countryside permitting a
maximum density of one dwelling unit per two acres. The current
zoning conforms to the land use guide designation. This zone
change will permit a density that is seventeen (17) times the
allowable density for this property. Approval of the above referenced
zone change is a blatant disregard for the land use guide process.
Any benefit that the applicant is proposing to the water and
sewage facilities of the Blue Diamond area is negligible in comparison
to the adverse impact of the increased density. This is a nonconforming
zone change and the staff recommendation of denial should be
followed.
